Job Profile

ESO is looking for a full-time Python developer on-premise in Athens, Greece, or part-time with regular presence in Athens, Greece. You will be required to travel to our parent company in Germany and/or internationally on a monthly basis. An advanced level of English is required for regular team meetings (e.g. online conferences), GitHub issue resolution, and completing documentation.

You will be developing Python and JavaScript in the Frappe Framework (frappe.io) to implement customized ERP solutions for ESO based on the Frappe APP ERPNext (erpnext.com). The current software team of 2 is located in Germany and Greece, of which 2 are developers. The company overall has over 80 employees.

Much of the code written will be contributed back to the open source stack of ERPNext, so we encourage active engagement in the open source community. If you are looking to work locally in a small but growing agile and international team to build an enterprise ERPSystem, and if you are a very experienced Python developer, this job may be right for you. 

Required Skills

The following skills are required in advanced level:

• Python
• JavaScript
• Bootstrap and CSS
• HTML 5.0 (should go without saying)
• MariaDB
• GitHub
• Linux or MacOS

The following basic skills have to be acquired before the interview:

• Basic understanding of the Frappe Framework
• App creation, Python backend code, JavaScript, custom print formats in Frappe Framework
• Basic understanding of the Electronics Manufacturing Services industry

Dream-candidates also know the following, but this is not essential:

• Cross-platform mobile device development (Windows Phone, iOS, Android)
• VB.NET development within Visual Studio (Windows Desktop and ASP)
• Arduino software/hardware development
• Linux Webserver administration
• Amazon Web Services
• German language skills
