Job Description

Your role will be to work as a member of the engineering team responsible for designing and maintaining our REST API and deploying our application and its components in Unix/Linux environments aiming to scale to millions of users.

Responsibilities

• Build new Linux systems in hardware and/or cloud server environments
• Maintain, monitor, and create development and production environments
• Troubleshoot production and systems issues
• Tune systems and site for performance
• Support and improve our tools for automated, testing building and release management
• Manage our Git source control repos
• Audit/ensure the security of deployed system
• Implement new features of our product in Python/Django
• Load test our systems
• Maintain and extend our REST API, data schema and test suites
• Manage the daily deployment process

Skills

• Mad Linux skills (we use Ubuntu)
• Nginx web server configuration & troubleshooting
• Load-balancing concepts
• Attention to detail
• Able to perform under pressure and deliver results in a demanding and fast-paced environment that requires fresh thinking, innovation and solutions-oriented approach
• Python / Django
• REST API concepts and design
• Elasticsearch
• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
• Expertise with NoSQL (DynamoDB, Redis, Cassandra)
• AWS and SaaS experience
• Configuration management (we use Ansible)
• System Architecture
• Load testing and load testing tools (we use locust.io)
• Git for distributed version control

Bonus Points

• Experience with boto and DynamoDB
• Experience with Ansible
