Stylect, an early stage startup in the fashion e-commerce space, is looking for a developer with proven experience in Web scraping on a part time / as needed basis. There is already a working system in place scraping over a hundred thousand product pages per day from multiple websites. We're looking for someone to help us expand to many more sites within the coming months.

Must-have:

• Strong grasp of Python and XPath.
• Familiar with browser development tools (Firebug / Chrome devtools) for quickly identifying robust XPath expressions that capture the desired data.
• Comfortable with distributed version control (git / mercurial).
• Good command of English.
• Attention to detail and the quality of your work.

Nice-to-have:

• Scraping frameworks, libraries and tools (lxml, BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, etc.).
• Javascript-based scraping (PhantomJS, Selenium).
• Unit testing.
• Based in Athens.

Job Description:

SFE, a Startup in the shipping industry, is looking for a Pythonist to develop a marketplace complimented with econometric tools; he will work with expert shipping economists in order to develop economic models into an end-to-end framework that will include data acquisition, mapping, segmentation tools, and a model implementation framework. Additionally, the candidate will develop an agile process for deploying and releasing software.

What we are looking for: An individual with knowledge and experiences identical to our startup IT needs; but most importantly are looking for an individual matching our culture of innovation, our passions, who "breaks through the noise", who shares his ideas, who sticks to the cause and is willing to go the extra mile when required. We are looking for an individual from whom we can learn from, and who is always eager to acquire further knowledge and is always open to new theories, and experiences.

Requirements

• Exceptional Python experience; knowledge of programming in data analysis and econometrics spaces will be considered an asset,
• Knowledge in Machine Learning and Web Crawling,
• Experienced with Pandas, No/SQL, SQL Databases,
• Front end development (HTML, CSS),
• Relevant contributions to open source projects are a plus.

Job description

Perfecta is an early stage startup in the field of scientific computing. Currently there is a vacancy for the position of Web Programmer in our team. As part of our team he/she will participate in our everyday startup activity and have a key role in the development of our platform. Please note that we are looking for people currently residing in Athens, Greece.

Desired skills and experience

• Experience in Python.
• Experience in the implementation of libraries (such as SciPy/NumPy, Matplotlib, MPLD3) into Django web framework.
• Some experience in front-end development (html/css/javascript)

Previous experience in the fields of cloud computing and data processing would be highly appreciated.

Το εργαστήριο Υδρολογίας της Σχολής Πολιτικών Μηχανικών ΕΜΠ, ενδιαφέρεται να προσλάβει μηχανικό/προγραμματιστή για την ανάπτυξη διαδικτυακού συστήματος υποστήριξης αποφάσεων, στα πλαίσια Ευρωπαϊκού Ερευνητικού προγράμματος.

Προσόντα:

• Πτυχίο (μεταπτυχιακό ή διδακτορικό αν υπάρχει) σε επιστήμες Πληροφορικής και Η/Υ (Computer Science, Information Technologies, Computing) ή αντίστοιχο.
• Πολύ καλή γνώση και εμπειρία σε ανάπτυξη web applications (ειδικά σε Django)
• Πολύ καλή γνώση και εμπειρία σε προγραμματισμό (ειδικά σε Python και C).
• Πολύ καλή γνώση Αγγλικών (επιπέδου Proficiency).

Θα συνεκτιμηθούν, αν υπάρχουν:

• Πρόσθετες γνώσεις προγραμματισμού (πχ. C#, Java, Matlab ή R).
