Your role

You will integrate to our agile development team, where you will be involved in the design and development of:

• Web Applications for our monitoring tools.
• REST APIs
• Datawarehouses, ETLs

Key skills

• Expert-level in JavaScript, jQuery and Backbone.js
• Expert-level in HTML, CSS
• Experience in Python and Django
• Experience in Test-driven development (PyUnit, QUnit)

Profile

1. Responsibilities

• Design and implementation of complex, responsive front-end web apps & data visualization
• Execute data product projects with continuous delivery and enhancement model
• Define the companys short- and long-term UX strategy
• Ensure that technology standards and best practices are maintained

2.1 Hard Skills

• Javascript (Familiarity with hexagonaljs logic) , CoffeeScript, Ajax, JQuery (chart libraries like Highcharts,), HTML, CSS, LESS,
• Proven track record in building data-driven web applications, interest in DOM manipulation technologies (D3.js) and modern libraries: Prototype, Angular, Backbone
• Good knowledge of different DB systems and cache engines (Redis, PostgreSQL etc)
• Knowledge of high availability techniques
• Knowledge of UX/UI principles for web apps
• Experience with Agile Development Principles
• Understanding of concepts such as profiling/optimization, common data structures and algorithms

Python/Django Developer needed immediately in Athens

We are a seed-funded Internet Start-up based in Athens with a global market scope. Our core business is to generate web traffic to online gaming websites such as William Hill, Ladbrokes, and Sportingbet. Our team has considerable experience in starting-up, and growing tech-based companies. Our work environment is energetic, hardworking, and fun.

To date, we have developed a live Beta version of the site in Python/Django talking to a mySQL server and we are now looking to turn it into a fielded application by December 2013.

We are seeking a competent Developer who has studied Computer Science at a top academic institution either in Greece or abroad; who has previously written substantial commercial-level code; and who is willing to dedicate themselves to this project for the long-term to see it grow and succeed.

If you are not proficient on Python/Django, but would still be interested in developing your skills in Google’s preferred platform, you can still apply for this position.

Είμαστε μια νέα εταιρεία με δυο SaaS προϊόντα, με εγκατεστημένη βάση, και ψάχνουμε ένα developer με γνώσεις Python για την ομάδα ανάπτυξης μας. Θέλουμε έναν developer που θα μπορεί να συμμετέχει στο backend άλλα και στο frontend κομμάτι, με τις παρακάτω γνώσεις:

• Γνώση linux ή αντίστοιχου UNIX περιβάλλοντος
• Γνώση τεχνολογιών frontend (js/coffeescript, websockets etc)
• Εμπειρία με evented κώδικα (gevent, asyncore)
• Εμπειρία με networking (zmq, tcp, udp)

Θα εκτιμηθούν ιδιαίτερα αν και δεν είναι απολύτως απαραίτητα:

• Μια, τουλάχιστον, ελαφρά εξοικείωση με C++ (STL και BOOST).
• Θεωρητικό υπόβαθρό στην πληροφορική.
• Γνώσεις πρωτοκόλλων τηλεφωνίας (SS7, SIP, H232)
